This October, our commitment to education and empowerment finds a renewed focus in Nigeria. Drawing inspiration from the broader S-connect school connect program and the pivotal findings of "Project Drawdown", we are setting in motion our 'Girl Child Initiative'. Through this program, we aim to bridge the gap for girls who face various challenges in accessing education, be it economic, cultural, or safety-related.
Our Footprints Across Nigeria
Starting in Lagos, our CSR team, led by the dedicated Ejeh Godwin, our Head of CSR, will journey through Port Harcourt, Abuja, and beyond, visiting over 25 schools in Nigeria. Our goal is simple yet meaningful: to provide essential school supplies such as uniforms, pens, sandals, and school bags to the girls who need them. Beyond tangible aid, we're introducing heartfulness relaxation techniques, hoping to offer these children tools for personal grounding and resilience.
A Goal for the Future
With a vision for the next year, we hope to reach and positively impact 5,000 schoolgirls. Our belief is straightforward: An educated girl has a ripple effect on her community and environment. She stands a better chance at higher wages, contributes to her community's growth, and understands the importance of her role in the larger environmental context.
In the words of Malala Yousafzai, "One child, one teacher, one book, and one pen, can change the world." Guided by Ejeh Godwin's leadership, our endeavor is to play a small but significant part in creating a brighter future for many Nigerian girls.
